Dining at China Lane

Tucked away in a little hidden lane way not too far from Wynyard station is China Lane, an absolute gem. The restaurant is located away from the hustle and bustle of George St and Martin Place. It's also a great place for a work lunch and business meetings as the chefs are trained to cook within the strict work time frames (without lowering their quality either). The food is absolutely delicious and the cocktails are a treat too!

A trio of us made our way here after work and I can safely say that this place is a must-try! China Lane is a sister restaurant of China Doll on Woolloomooloo Wharf - what a truly enjoyable night!

As we walked through the door we were greeted by attentive wait staff. The menu was varied, extensive and catered to all taste buds and preferences. I really enjoyed the pickled vegetables, sichuan style chilli chicken wings, pulled pork baos, soy braised crispy pork belly as well as the wok fried lamb ribs with black bean & shallot! I could seriously just live off those dishes! I was also lucky enough to meet Kristian Vale - the head chef of China Lane who has been cooking a fusion of Western and Asian cuisine for just over four incredible years. Thank you for taking such good care of us!

Our feast was topped off with a beautifully prepared mango pancake, chocolate ginger mousse and the hokey pokey parfait. Foodwise, the absolute stand outs would have to be the pulled pork baos and chilli chicken wings for me. I was on the verge of having to be rolled out of the restaurant as we left - I was THAT full! China Lane caters to the public at an affordable price with top quality food. I can't wait to be back!

See the images below of my highlights from the evening! ;)
