Mount Nelson A Belmond Hotel | Cape Town

Gifted *

I had the pleasure of staying at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel in Cape Town for two beautiful nights with my mum. It had been over four years since we had last done a trip together - and I couldn’t have thought of a better person to have shared these special memories with. A special thank you to Busi as well as Clement for taking such good care of us during our stay. We’ll be back soon!

We arrived at 09:00am and were picked up swiftly by the Mount Nelson team from the Cape Town International airport. Set in the vibrant heart of Cape Town, this luxury hotel and spa offered easy access to restaurants as well as the V&A Waterfront. We collected our room key and checked into our room despite our early arrival, the hotel was extremely accomodating and allowed us to explore the vast hotel grounds at our ease.

Mount Nelson has long been regarded as one of the city’s top five star hotels. It offers the perfect combination of leafy tranquility and contemporary buzz. Whether dining for high tea, soaking up the sun or exploring the busy streets, we loved the location of the hotel.

Checking into our Garden Cottage

We were lucky enough to stay in one of the beautiful garden cottages which were so charming with their own individual flowering gardens and a separate pathway named Sydenham Terrace.

Breakfast Buffet at the Oasis

Breakfast runs between 06:30-10:30am - so mum and I slept in until 08:00 and slowly made our way down to the Oasis and tucked into a wholesome buffet spread. We ordered the avocado on toast as well as oats cooked with almond milk. Both were so scrumptious and beautifully prepared.

We decided to take a quick dip post-breakfast to relax and wind down for the rest of the day. There are two heated outdoor swimming pools, available exclusively for guests staying at the hotel.

The Oasis Pool is one of the largest heated pools in South Africa. The Cottage Pool is located in a secluded spot of the hotel gardens.
